Description
Photograph of a panoramic view of Redondo Beach showing the Uniform Rank of the "Fraternal Brotherhood", Los Angeles, July 1911. Men in uniform are grouped in disorganized lines across the frame, with a large group of onlookers behind them in civilian clothes. To the far left, some of the uniformed men comprise a band, in which a tuba and euphonium can be seen. To the far right, a building bears the moniker "Redondo Beach" as well as bearing the signs "Western Telegram Cable Office" and "Santa Fe". In the background, the various-leveled roofs of the city can be seen, along with a parked cable-car and a paved road that bisects the distance. Other legible signs include from left to right: "Royal Lunch", "L. & D. Drug Co.", "English", "Furnished Rooms", "Block", "Farmers & Merchants National Bank", "Real Estate", "Laundry Office: Back in 48 Hours", "Pacific Electric", "[...]Ridgely Shoes", "Andross", "The Fair", "Scott & [...] Pool & Billards: Cigars and Tobacco", "Geo. S. Funk", "Sea Side Market", "Gents Furnishings: Shoes", "The Toggery", "Kodaks: Drugs, Stationary, Shakes", and "J.P. Ericson: Cigars".
