Description
Photograph of S.S. Ohio at dock before the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce's voyage to Hawaii, San Pedro, 1907. A crowd of people is observable in the foreground while standing on the dock's wooden platform. The large sailing ship is stationed parallel to the dock a side view of the ship shows small circular windows below deck and, on deck, additional people standing by the rail and next to several auxiliary boats are viewable. Behind them, stands the ship's chimney pipe with a large star, which seems to have a decorative purpose along with additional pipes surrounding it to the left, the mast is standing with a series of ropes hanging from it to the right, a small two-level cabin is visible with a sign that says "OHIO". The people seem to be boarding the ship from the left and below deck. A large sign is attached to the rail which reads: "Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce". The sailing vessels of additional ships are noticeable in the background.
