Description
Open house for the new All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Mosque, Sterling, Virginia, November 30, 2002, 2pm. A young woman wearing a white Hijab, (headscarf) and black flowered Abaya, (dress), addressing visitors to the new Mosque. She is seated at a large wash basin, running water from a tap, and explaining the ritual ablution, or wudu, which must take place before entering the mosque & prayers. There are two Anglo-American women from the neighborhood watching her in the left foreground.
