One man was killed and another was critically injured when an ABC Rubbish Co. trash truck drove around a railroad crossing gate and was struck by a Southern Pacific Railroad train going 40 m.p.h. Pictured is what remains of the trash truck, which ended up hundreds of yards from Clybourn Avenue, the intersection at which it was struck. The tracks run along Vanowen in Burbank. Photograph dated April 18, 1988.
