Photograph of a view of scaffolding attached to Jefferson and Washington at unfinished Mount Rushmore, Black Hills, South Dakota, 1930-1940. A carving of a large nose and eye sockets can be seen at right behind scaffolding. At least three men can be seen on the side of the carving attached to ropes, while two wooden structures can be seen at right on top of the mountain. The profile of a carving of a second face is visible at left. Mountains are visible in the left background, while railing can be seen on top of a stone outcropping in the right foreground. Photoprint reads: "Gutzon Borglum's Jefferson monument".
