Catchwords usually in inner lower margin; in quires 9-30 in brown ink frames; in quires 21-27, occasional catchwords on inner leaves of quires; in quires 31-50, no catchwords. 38 long lines, ruled in lead with top and bottom 2 lines full across, round prick marks in the 3 outer margins. 39-40 long lines, ruled in lead with all horizontal lines full across, round prick marks in the 3 outer margins. 33-34 long lines, frame ruled in brown crayon, round prick marks in the 3 outer margins. 32-40 long lines, frame ruled in lead, round prick marks at the 4 corners of the text frame. Span folios: ff. 1-389v. Other Decoration: 5-to 3-line blue initials infilled with red void leaf designs, and with red and blue cascade borders terminating in red flourishes on ff. 51 (beginning of the statutes of Edward III) and 123v (beginning of the statutes of Richard II); 7- to 3-line blue initials with red flourishing; paragraph marks alternating red and blue; running headlines in the hands of the scribes (with the name of the king often added later) frequently set off by paragraph marks; chapter numbers in the margins set off by paragraph marks; marginalia in several hands. On f. iv, two cancelled pressmarks, "A.6" and "B.9" in the hand of John Egerton (1579-1649), 1st Earl of Bridgewater, and a later pressmark in the hand of the second Earl (1622-86), "L.CC.S:1./3."; on f. iii, in an early modern hand, "L. Cl.S.1.3." Bridgewater bookplate and current pressmark, "9 H 10," on the front pastedown.
