Whittier, left, administrator of veterans affairs in Washington, who visited hospital to inspect facilities and talk to patients. In town for VFW convention, Whittier was welcomed at hospital by Dr. T. J. Hardgrove, center, hospital manager, and Dr. N. C. Mace, director of professional services."
