On back: "San Jose Chinatown just before fire of 1887." A water tank on wooden tower is on the left side of the frame. Market Street is on the right. The San Jose Foundry can be seen in the background. Featured in Connie Young Yu's "Chinatown, San Jose, U.S.A." on page 22 with caption, "An aerial view of the Market Street Chinatown between San Fernando and San Carlos streets, just before the fire in 1887."
