Description
Douglas "Wrong Way" Corrigan stands in front of his 1929 Curtiss Model 50 Robin B monoplane, the airplane that he flew on his "Wrong Way" flight to Ireland in 1938. Photo was taken in Oakland, California in 1939. Corrigan's inscription on the front of the photo reads "Curtis Robin NX9243, "Sunshine." Signed "Wrong Way to Ireland. Douglas Corrigan 1938." Rear of photo reads "at Oakland CA 1939."
