Photograph article dated August 10, 1961 partially reads, "Aquacades, tennis and swim meets and a traveling carnival top the list of Valley activities at municipal recreation centers. Youngsters representing five Valley pools will participate in 'The Wettest Show on Earth,' the second of the 1961 water carnivals, slated at 8:15 p.m. today at North Hollywood Pool, 5301 Tujunga Ave. performing in the aquacade will be youths from Verdugo Hills, North Hollywood, Sun Valley, Fernangeles and Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks plunges, according to the Los Angeles City Recreation and Park Department. The youths develop their own acts for the festival." Pictured is lifeguard Terry Gardner, preparing to make a landing.
