Description
Photograph of a run-down street in Bear Valley, ca.1930. Two collapsing commercial buildings are shown just to the left of center, while a two-story building that appears to be a hotel or home can be seen behind a length of picket fence and a tall treet at right. In the foreground, a patch of uneven, gravelly road cuts diagonally to the right. Picture file card asserts that the view "shows almost half the town" and that "General Fremont lived here and promoted the townsite in 1858".
