Description
For the marathon, there were 107 competitors from 59 countries; 78 of them completed the race. Photograph caption dated August 13, 1984 reads, "Crowd on Barnard Way in Santa Monica cheers marathoners at 15km mark, (Carlos Lopes of Portugal ) #723 won." Lopes time' was 2:09:21.
