Description
Photograph labeled "Early radio station," found framed in Harold Elliott's collection. A landline telephone is mounted on the wall, with a large clock to the right. A door leads outside to the left of the window. An antenna cable can be seen leading out of the wall to the left of the window. Appears to be a high-power amplifier and transmitter, using either RCA UV 204a or Federal 128 vacuum tubes. This photograph also exists in the Perham History Files photographs, with Douglas Perham's caption: "WVY Early High Frequency Transmitter built by Heintz & Kaufman of San Francisco, 1923. 500 Watt, self-rectifying, TPTG. 500 Cycle Plate Supply. 1923 Presidio, San Francisco."
