Photograph article dated March 24, 1961 partially reads, "Mobilized mail delivery along routes that used to cause bunions and aching backs for carriers is spreading across the San Fernando valley. Salvation for the weary mailman is a brightly painted, red-white-blue three-wheel scooter built in Stockton, Calif., especially for the Post Office Department. They are 12-horsepower, two-cylinder machines that will carry up to 500 pounds of mail each. They are called mailsters. Five Valley post offices already have started motorized route service."
