Photograph caption dated November 24, 1962 reads, "Carol Johnson, 16, Corvallis High School student, received a trophy and congratulations from Dorothy Ford, second national vice president of Business and Professional Women's Association, and Cravens Douglass, State BPW president, this week for placing first in BPW's 'Career Woman' speech contest. She will enter a group speak-off contest the first part of January to pick the state winner who will receive a trip to Washington, D.C., and New York."
