Description
From notes on photo: “Olive Ave. 1911, taken day when first P.E. car arrived.” According to the book A History of Burbank, published by the Burbank Unified School District in 1967, Pacific Electric Railroad "red car" tracks connected Burbank to Los Angeles starting September 6, 1911. The city Chamber of Commerce adopted the slogan "Burbank--45 minutes from Broadway." The line was active until 1956.
