Bolshoi Ballet is part of the Bolshoi Theater, which also includes Russia's premier opera company. Bolshoi Ballet is one of the principal ballet companies of Russia and amongst the oldest and greatest ballet companies of the world, having begun as a dancing school for the Moscow Orphanage in 1773.
Photograph caption dated August 24, 1987 reads, "Unforgettable Lyudmila Semenyaka found ways to invest the character of "Raymonda" with a personalty [sic] you could really care about."
