Photograph caption dated October 2, 1962 reads, "White canes will be the order of the day when Burbank Lions Club members solicit Friday and Saturday for funds for the blind. William E. Twiss (left) holds small canes which will be given to donors while Ross Reynolds, president, and R. T. Keowen, secretary, man a big white cane with a red tip which is symbolic of the national drive."
