Description
Photograph of a numbered panoramic view of Sonora Town showing the first settlement, Los Angeles, [s.d.]. The photograph, edited in marker with numbers and written commentary, shows the burgeoning Sonora Town with wide, unpaved roads and residence-like buildings spaced on disperse blocks in an unorganized arrangement. The block at center seems to be surrounded by a fence, although it contains several buildings of differing size arranged into the corners of the block making an empty space at its center. What appear to be wheel-tracks can be seen in the road, and mountains are visible in the background. Legible comments include: "House in which Mr. P. once lived.", "House in which Mr. Prudhomme lived as a youth.", and "On the X corner John Dodson had his Soap factory. It is the site of the first Plaza Church."
