Photograph (never published) shows radio DJ and TV personality Jim Hawthorne taking a close-up approach to painting. Hawthorne was a disc jockey at the radio station KXLA in Pasadena and was a pioneer in freeform, non-traditional radio broadcasting. He was the honorary mayor of Studio City from 1950-1955.; See images #00124880 through #00124884 for all photos in this series.
