The unedited transcript of Phalana Tiller's interview with Kevin Plank, and an archived appearance of Peter Drucker for the March 2013 episode of Drucker on the Dial entitled "Tackling the Market." First, Kevin Plank, co-founder and chief executive officer of Under Armour, discusses his Valentine’s Day rose delivery business that he started as a freshman in college. He explains how he contemplated the rose business and crab cake business, and his eventual founding of Under Armour. Plank talks about his early relationships with athletes, and how he introduced his products. He explains the idea of changing the view of apparel, and asking the question, “What do you want to be?” Plank also talks about the launch of Armour 39, a biometric measuring device, which can measure your willpower. He goes on to say that he would like to be remembered for building a great brand that is empowering and inspirational. Next, in an archived appearance, Peter Drucker discusses the Internet, and the information shift to the customer. He explains that with the Internet, everything has become a local market. Drucker talks about marketing as a way to look at the institution from the end product, which is the customer. He goes on to say that we will have to learn to redefine the business, even local ones, in terms of markets that know no distances, and cannot be defined in terms of geography.
