Photograph article dated February 23, 1963 partially reads, "Television writer Leonard M. Heideman is in West Valley jail today on suspicion of murdering his attractive wife by stabbing her about 12 times with kitchen shears and a butcher knife. "I lost my head," Heideman told Det. O. D. de Ryk, "I went out of my mind. If only I could turn back the clock. We have to go on a trip today." Police Friday morning found the body of his wife, Dolores, 32, on the floor between the kitchen and dining room of their $50,000 Tarzana home. The double handle of the shears protruded from her chest. Heideman, writer for such TV shows as "Have Gun Will Travel," "Bonanza" and "Sam Benedict," emerged nude from a rear room when officers came to the house at 5060 Shirley Ave." Photograph caption reads: "Television writer Leonard Heideman admits slaying wife.
