Tinted lantern slide of a peasant with his two donkeys outside a small inn. The two donkeys eat from a single bowl placed in between them. One donkey pulls a cart with an earthenware pot and sacks, whilst the other animal pulls a covered cart with bricks, bowls and sacks. The slide was developed by the Photo Department, Tientsin Hui Wen Academy, Tientsin, China. This slide comes from a collection held by the Church of Scotland and generated by the medical missionary Charles Somerville, who worked for the London Missionary Society in Hankou from 1904 to 1914.
