Photograph article dated January 16, 1961 partially reads, "The 'Question Man' had some answers Friday night for a member of the Los Angeles Board of Education. Steve Allen, the television comedian who frequently who made up zany questions for sensible answers given him, was deadly serious in countering charges made by board member J. C. Chambers. Chambers had said Thursday that Allen 'is not competent' to speak on 'Education, Morality and Nuclear Warfare' before an assembly of teachers today. The Board of Education member said Allen is a controversial figure and feared the schools would be criticized for permitting the entertainer to appear in the Los Angeles High School Auditorium. Allen, in a press conference at his home in the Royal Oaks area of Encino called to answer Chambers' accusations of incompetence and controversy, said he believes the attack 'originates out of ignorance rather than malice.'"
