This film documents the original downtown area of Huntington Beach and its beachfront, including buildings, traffic and pedestrians. Many of the structures dated to the ealiest days of the city which was founded in 1909, while others reflected subsequent oil booms that led to the growth of the city in the intervening years. The iconic Golden Bear and the Standard Market, both now demolishred, appear. Almost immediately after this film was made, an enthusiastic urban renewal effort began. Today, most of this historic core has been demolished.
