Description
Photograph of ore in sacks at White's landing awaiting shipment from Catalina Island to Smelter at Shelby, ca.1890-1920. The long, wooden dock stands on wooden beams from the foreground on the left to a small tower in the water on the right. At center five men in hats empty sacks from a truck on to the piles that line both sides of the dock. Two large rocks sit in the water to the left of the men while many more men work at the end of the dock with a small boat in the water on the right. "Photo says Whitis Landing probably is White's Landing".
