Description
98 Lovell Ave. Caption from 1982 Walk Into History reads, "The Cudworth house was built in the 1890"s (1876) as a summer cottage. When school ended for summer vacation the Cudworth children spent the summer here with their maternal grandmother Wesswl. They waded thru knee deep grass on opening the gate upon their arrival, then had to weed the yard and always when they finished it was time to return to the city and to school. The cottage was named Emo-Roy after the two Cudworth sons. It was given to Emory A. Cudworth, Sr. as a wedding present in 1901. He and his bride spent their honemoon here. Mr. Cu8dworth surveyed a great portion of Mill Valley for Hibernia Bank. This tiny cottage was built as it stands today with a few additons and the porch going around the house."
