Description
This circa 1915 postcard provides a view of Galt Grammar School located at Fifth and B streets in Galt, California. Opened in 1879, Galt residents donated funds to help build the school on land donated by early settler Dr. Obed Harvey. As Galt grew in population, the town approved bonds to replace this school with a larger one in 1915. This building was razed in 1918. Its replacement opened a year later on Fifth and E streets.
