Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of Pershing Square looking southeast from the corner of Fifth Street and Olive Street, Los Angeles, ca.1926. Buildings from the city are visible from behind the trees of the grassy park that dominates the lower half of the image. A wide path cuts through the middle of the park, along which several people sit on a bench. Further back and to the left, a tall flagpole juts up from the park, bearing the American flag. Automobiles are visible parking and driving along the street at the far right bottom corner. Near the left bottom corner, a statue on a pedestal stands. Signs in the city's background read "Metropolitan Theatre Building" and "Emporium". Compare: CHS-115. Photo shows Pershing Square from Sixth Street and Hill Street, ca.1884.
