Description
Aerial view of downtown Los Angeles looking northeast. The tower, center, is City Hall, the tallest building in Los Angeles until 1964. Behind City Hall, construction for the Civic Center is underway and behind and to the right is the Pasadena Freeway. Several business signs are visible in the lower portion of the photo. These include Haas, Baruch & Co. and Western Lithograph Company, left; California Hardway Company, center; and White King Soap, right. A good portion of the cityscape is given over to parking lots.
