Description
The photo caption in the Sacramento Bee, December 25, 1964, states: "Marysville, Yuba County, is an embattled island amid the waters of the Feather and Yuba Rivers in this aerial view looking northeast from above Yuba City, Sutter County. The wide expanse of water at the left rear is the Feather River which has overflowed its banks. Only a levee separated it from the Yuba River, the narrow river winding back toward the cloud decked Sierra. The body of water in the center of Marysville is Ellis Lake."
