Description
Photograph of a view of the beach and cliff north of Palisades in Santa Monica, ca.1905. The beach is at left and is a broad, sandy expanse. It is bordered by a two-lane highway, and running parallel to the road is a railroad. A line of short bushes separates the rails from the steep cliffs at right. The cliffs are very rocky, and their faces are mostly bare of vegetation. There are trees along the top of the cliff in the distance at right, and a large mountain juts into the water in the background.
