Description
Photograph of the exterior view of an adobe on the Hammel and Denker ranch, formerly Rancho Rodeo de Las Aguas in Beverly Hills, 1920. The adobe was known as the Antonio Roche house, although the first grant was given to Manuel R. Valdez and belonged to Marie Rita Valdez (?). The bottom stair is missing from the wooden staircase going up the white-plastered adobe to a recessed door near the peak of the roof. There is a boarded-up door beneath the staircase, and both the extreme right and extreme left ends of the wall of the building are wooden. Small plants are growing at the base of the stairs.
