Description
The caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on September 22, 1972 states: "Opening ceremonies for the last five-mile section of Interstate 5 through Shasta County yesterday culminated 17 years of effort by the state to eliminate stretches of two-lane roadway in the county at a cost of $75 million. On hand to break the ribbon opening the freeway section were members and vehicles of the Redding Antique Car Club, seen at left."
