Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph article dated October 13, 1962 reads, "'Independence and spiritual freedom are the life blood of the church,' claims the Rev. Fletcher A. Harding, 10-year pastor of the Encino Community Church. 'One of the illnesses of the church today is its professional denominationalism,' he said. Dr. Harding, who has also been a practicing psychologist, states that this factor kept him from joining a particular religious body and was instrumental in his setting up an independent church."
