Stereo photograph of the New High Street north of Temple Street in Los Angeles, ca.1930. The photograph features the block of buildings that were demolished to allow the continuation and realignment of Spring Street north of Temple Street in circa 1931. Included, from the north-west corner looking west: O.W. Childs Building (built in 1887) can be seen in the foreground from center to the right behind it, the Lawyers' Block (built in 1886) is visible behind the Lawyers' Block, the Third Los Angeles County Jail (built in 1902) can be seen. Also, in the close background, across Buena Vista Street, the County Hall of Justice (built in 1925) is visible. In the extreme background, at left, the Woman's Christian Temperance Union building (built in 1889) can be seen across Broadway. Legible signs include, from left to right, "Ju[ven]ile Pro[tec]tive Ass[ocia]tion of Los [Angeles] County", "Cigars Barber Shop", and "Warning".
