Photograph article partially reads, "Gaping holes dug by treasure hunters, increasing in number since a cache of old Spanish jewelry was dug up in one room of the north wing, and weeds grown waist high greeted Mr. and Mrs. Mark Raymond Harrington when they first picked their way through fields near San Fernando Mission to the old Gen. Andres Pico adobe. That was in 1930. After ten years this historic home stands amid citrus orchards and in the shade of towering, patriarchal eucalyptus, as it did many years previously in the days of the dons, for Harrington, curator of the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles, restored the tumble down walls and he and his wife replanted the intriguing gardens. A Spanish fountain again whispers in the patio, while the incongruous roar of occasional trucks on nearby Sepulveda boulevard occasionally penetrates the tranquility of the rancho."
