Description
Fountain in the rock garden at the entrance to the Huntington Art Gallery. The bronze figure, "Bacchante," is by Frederick MacMonnines, the American sculptor. The base is marble of the XVI century and bears the Medici coat of arms. The vasque, or bowl, of the fountain is modern. Part of the notable collections of cycads and palms in the Huntington Botanical Garden surround the fountain. June 10, 1937.
