Photograph caption dated October 23, 1956 reads, "One of five ranges - Members of San Fernando Valley Gun club line up to fire gun range, one of five provided for members of Valley groups. Located in Dry Canyon near Saugus, range provides facilities for trap shooting, big and small bore rifles, muzzle loaders and pistols. Weekly competition is held to prepare members for city, state and national competition. Membership of San Fernando Valley gun club is 150, not including junior members who fire on small bore range under adult supervision. Roofs for all ranges will be provided in the near future to protect shooters from winter rains and summer sun." See images 00147476 through 00147484 for all photos in this series.
