Thomas Rees was born on March 26, 1925. He served in the California State Assembly and Senate. Rees introduced the bill in the state legislature which created the Southern California Rapid Transit District. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1965. Rees died in 2003. Photograph caption dated November 3, 1962 reads "Democratic candidate for State Senate Assemblyman Tom Rees appears at a Valley reception in his honor with motion picture star Merry Anders, Honorary Mayor of Mission Hills, and Assemblyman Tom Bane, candidate for reelection in the 42nd District."
