Description
Martin Murphy, Sr., native of Ireland, migrated to Canada in 1820, and from Canada to the United States in 1840. In 1844, he, his family and relatives came to California as part of the Murphy-Townsend-Stevens party. He settled near Morgan Hill and died in 1865.
