Caption printed on photo: "Admiral Evans. No. 65. Naval Parade, May 7, 1908. Copyright 1908 by Turrill & Miller. Turrill & Miller Photo, S.F." Text written under photo: "Reception to Admiral Evans. Evans & Mayor Taylor in carriage. Det. Wm. R. Proll on seat with driver. 1908." View shows carriage containing top-hatted mayor Edward R. Taylor and Admiral Evans going west on Market just past Powell. Crowds of onlookers are waving. The Flood Building is seen at the extreme right. This was when Teddy Roosevelt's "Great White Fleet" visited San Francisco during its round-the-world cruise.
