Looking up the Russian River, Korbel Ranch out buildings are visible on the river bank to the left; the Korbel brothers, Francis, Anton and Joseph settled on the timber land in 1872 and developed a lumber business, later developed champagne vineyards on the cleared land in the 1880's.
