“Rev Jediel & Mercy.” Portrait of Jediel and Mercy with their two daughters. Mwalimu Jediel studied at the Chogoria school before going onto teacher training at Kahuhia. He later entered the ministry and became the first man from the local area to be ordained. ❧ The image is from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the period from 1928-1961 at the Chogoria mission which was established in 1922.
