Shows steamboats, schooners, sail boats, row boats on the river, some docked along Sacramento side; American flags fly from two of the boats. Tents & supplies line the river's edge on the Sacramento side. Buildings line the streets filled with people and wagons. Text below the image includes: (left) Dess. et Lith. par L. Le Breton; (center) Wild, Editeur, 15, rue de la Banque Place de la Bourse; (right) Paris, Imp. par Auguste Bry, 142, r. du Bac. Stamped: "Presented to the "Pioneer Club of Mutual Hook and Ladder Co.
