Photograph caption dated March 9, 1964 reads, "Mrs. Orr leaves Pacoima hospital for mercy flight to Texas. As ambulance attendants load her, Lt. Col. Walter E. Switzer, nevt [sic] to right, and Dr. Luigi DeLucia of Mission Hills, holding plasma bottle, stand by. Dr. DeLucia received high praise for his efforts in keeping Mrs. Orr alive." The article partially reads, "Mrs. Gloria Orr, 37, of 13180 Foothill Blvd., burned in an explosion on Feb. 29, early Sunday morning was flown to Brooke Army Hospital in San Antonio, Tex., via an Air Force flying ambulance...The plane, with a special burn unit team of nurses and doctors, arrived at Lockheed Air Terminal shortly after midnight Saturday. The team prepared Mrs. Orr for her trip, drove her to the plane in an ambulance, and took off for Texas in less than three hours."; See images #00117522 through #00117523 for all photos in this series.
