Photograph of a man posing next to a sign in Death Valley, ca.1900-1950. A man can be seen at center looking left wearing boots, pants, and a button up shirt. The man is visible holding a pair of glasses while he stands to the right of a sign reading, "Top of the World. Mt Whitney 14.501 Feet. Oct. 7 1925. Bottom of the World. Death Valley 276 Feet Below Sea Level". A skull and cross-bones is drawn in the center of the sign, while signatures and writing are visible throughout. Rocky terrain can be seen from the foreground up to mountains in the background.
