Description
"Wohnungen von Eingeborenen im Compound in Johannesburg, Basutohäuptling als Arbeiter" ("Tenements from natives in the compound in Johannesburg, Basuto-chief as a worker"). Two men are standing inside a room which has a corrugated iron sheet roof. Draperies and a paper are hanging on the wall. In the room is a stove (right) and some kind of machine (left).
Samuel Baudert (1879-1956), born as son of the missionary Samuel Baudert in South Africa, was mission director of the Moravian Church from 1924 to 1927 and since 1929 their bishop.
