Photograph caption dated April 28, 1954 reads "Don Perry, world's greatest rope climber, testing San Fernando High School rope in preparation for the national AAU gym Friday and Saturday evenings at San Fernando. Perry holds the world's record at 2.8 for the 20-foot climb. He attends UCLA."
