Opened on June 10, 1938, by the Hollywood Turf Club, Hollywood Park was renamed Betfair Hollywood Park on March 13, 2012. It was a thoroughbred and standardbred race course. The racetrack was closed after the final race on December 22, 2013.
Photograph caption dated July 17, 1964 reads "Pretty Marion Bergeson, Hollywood Park's Goose Girl, shows South African-bred handicap star Colorado King how he'll get his morning carrots next week if he's successful in winning the $162,100 Hollywood Gold Cup race tomorrow. Colorado King equalled the world's 1 1/8 mile record in winning the American Handicap recently. Jockey Ray York, who rode Colorado King in the American, will ride the South African star tomorrow."
